The Scrum Master teaches the team Agile practices, facilitates Scrum ceremonies, and shields the team from external distractions. The Scrum Master brings the Product Owner and the team together and helps them understand each other’s roles and key objectives. This individual is also a personal coach for team members and an innovator who constantly seeks continuous improvement. The role will serve as scrum master to multiple squads, located in multiple timezones.Preferred skillsCertified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent experience.Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, facilitation and communication skills.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.Proven ability to resolve conflicts and foster a collaborative team environment.Experience with software development in the insurance sector, particularly high-net-worth insurance, is highly desirable.Skilled in building relationships and navigating through corporate organizations.Ability to understand technical issues at a high level.A track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.QualificationsMust have a minimum of 4 years as a Scrum MasterResponsibilitiesFacilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews) for multiple agile squads.Assist the product owner in managing the product backlog and guide the team in identifying and prioritizing tasks, while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.Report Risk and milestones for product roadmaps as appropriate.Work with cross-functional squads to deliver high-quality software solutions tailored to the high-net-worth insurance market.Remove impediments or guide the team to remove impediments by finding and engaging the right people to remove the blocker.Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged.Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating information.Ensure the teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.Bring high-energy and passion to the role and influence those around them.Build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace.Builds and expands relationships within their team(s)/squad(s), portfolio / product owners and other supporting teams in delivery of business valueResponsible for tracking goals, key quality, and productivity measurements, while working with the team(s)/squad(s) to continuously improve these metrics.Responsible for managing all governance, reporting, and monitoring related activities as defined by the respective delivery framework being applied to work.Will seek guidance from senior resources when needed and will guide and mentor those with less experience.Responsible for planning, day-to-day execution, management, implementation, and reporting when working on non-agile initiatives.Change agent, supporting agile adoption, with focus on facilitating greater agility for their assigned team(s)/squad(s), coaching and building high performing team(s)/squad(s) and works to eliminate obstacles in delivering high quality technology solutions.Works as a servant leader accountable for establishing and coaching squad(s) on Agile practices and shares responsibility with their squad(s) for delivery of their assigned initiatives, while working in an agile framework.Can proactively identify, decompose, and remove impediments (both independently or with others) to ensure consistent velocity, predictability, and flow of work.Job Category: Scrum/CoachPosting End Date: 07/11/2024
