As a SAP HANA Developer you’ll join a team providing production support of existing solutions and their ongoing development with Product Owners. There is a strong pipeline of additional work from the ITS Projects Portfolio and global/regional programs. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with the BI Data Lead, BIIS Director, the BIIS Delivery Manager, Product Owners and distributed teams.

  • Working as part of a multi-country and multi-discipline supporting and developing a European wide data platform
  • Taking part in daily SCRUM calls to give updates / resolve issues with wider team
  • Estimating work both at the high-level project at initiation and work item level during execution
  • Writing technical specifications and support manuals for complex data products
  • Hands-on coding in SAP HANA SQL script and building views, functions and procedures to transform data
  • Develop close working relationships with business stakeholders and product owners
  • Solution Design of complex Analytics data warehouse models and full-stack applications covering Business Intelligence, Dashboards and REST-APIs
  • Understanding of end-to-end data lineage and mapping from source system to report

Essential

  • Proven experience of Data and Analytics projects as a software developer
  • Good understanding of the basic principles of data warehousing and multi-dimensional data modelling, including end-to-end data flow mapping
  • Good knowledge of best practice for CI/CD methodologies and tools, such as within Azure DEVOPS or GitHub
  • Capable of creating high-quality technical specifications, solution diagrams and/or user documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additionally

Either:

  • Proven experience in hands-on SAP HANA (native) development:

Calculation Views * CDS and HANA DB Objects (tables, SQLSCRIPT functions and stored procedures)

  • XS Advanced using Web IDE or SAP HANA cloud / BTP Web IDE Full Stack
  • Knowledge of SAP recommended best-practices for optimization of SQL queries for efficient use of memory and CPU resources

Or:

  • Proven experience in BI relevant hands-on development on another database / data warehouse technology
  • Good understanding of data integration / data modelling in a cloud or legacy Enterprise scale product (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks or SQL, Oracle, Teradata)

Desirable

  • Understanding best-practice principles for integration of data requirements for visualization and report design purposes
  • Understanding of BI and Data Viz tools (e.g. SAP BO Webi, PowerBI, A4O, Qlikview, Tableau), and their appropriate use-cases
  • Understanding Service Management (ITIL) principles or experience of using tool such as ServiceNow
  • Good understanding of the design principles of a SQL-based Data Warehouse
  • Knowledge or experience of ODATA / REST API web-service interfaces in SAP BTP or HANA XSA
  • Python, Javascript, R or other data-orientated programming language
  • Experience of working with colleagues and 3rd party-development teams based offshore
  • Functional knowledge of SAP R/3 or S/4 HANA as a data source (Finance, PS, SD, HR) and/or Salesforce
  • Experience / knowledge of best-practice on complex data migration projects
  • Good knowledge of cyber-security best practices and principles
