Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 200 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.
Full Time permanent (37.5 hours per week).
Shift times: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 11am – 7pm & Saturday, 9am – 5pm.

The Sample Receipt Officer is responsible for the receipt and registration of customer samples, liaising with customers and laboratory staff, and ensuring all customer, operational and quality requirements are met.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the role will focus on:
Receiving deliveries and checking if samples and products meet the customer and testing requirements.
Logging samples in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) recording accurately any information, storage and analytical requirements supplied by the customer.
Completing all quality control and quarantine records in accordance with quality requirements and work instructions related to sample receipt.
Sorting, packing, labelling and distributing samples and other items as required, internally and externally. Ensuring that samples are delivered to the respective laboratory areas in a timely manner to meet analytical holding times and to support the achievement of improved customer turnaround times.
Liaising with external clients regarding sample submissions and other related queries as appropriate and in support of the Analytical Service Managers.
Liaising with the laboratory personnel regarding sample submissions and customer requirements and inquiries.
Organising courier pick-ups for samples or sample containers sent externally, and follow up courier delivery, as required.
Performing general housekeeping duties, ensuring a safe and hazard free work environment.
Tertiary qualification in Science would be advantageous but not essential.

To be successful for this position, you will need to demonstrate the following qualities and characteristics:
Previous experience in administration will be highly regarded
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite.
Ability to work autonomously.
High level attention to detail.
Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
On the job training will be provided, along with the use of our systems and programs.
Previous exposure to a laboratory environment would hold you in good stead, however our successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get things done.
