Job DescriptionSales ManagerPertemps Stoke are currently looking for a Sales Manager to work out of their prestigious client based in Stafford.For this Sales Manager role, you will be responsible for:

  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide product information.
  • Prepare timely and accurate quotations for price and availability.
  • Promote and market all products.
  • Communicate customer requirements to the team.
  • Maintain and update customer records and mailing lists.
  • Assist with generating sales orders, delivery paperwork, and order acknowledgments.
  • Follow up on quotations and customer inquiries.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of the full product range.
  • Support the team in achieving overall business objectives.
  • Providing advice, preparing quotations, managing orders, and assisting with marketing initiatives.
  • Sales calls, quotations, administration, marketing support, and occasional customer visits.

Skills and Requirements for this Sales Manager role:

  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling customer requests.
  • Proficiency in IT (Outlook, Word, Excel); training provided on Sage 50 accounts.
  • Ability to follow instructions and manage administrative tasks effectively.
  • Physical capability to climb stairs, check stock, and sign for deliveries if needed.
  • Experience in sales office operations is beneficial.
  • Punctual, conscientious, and reliable.
  • Experience in sales and marketing is advantageous.
  • Basic engineering knowledge is desirable, but product knowledge will be taught.

Future Development for this Sales Manager role:

  • Develop the ability to stand in for the General Manager when necessary.
  • Plan and execute your own marketing campaigns.
  • Visit customers to discuss potential business opportunities.

Quality Management System (QMS) Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the company’s Quality Policy and Objectives.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with company procedures.
  • Complete relevant sections of quality records and inform management of any issues.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and assist with any internal audits.
  • Identify non-conforming materials or products and report them to management.

Challenges: You will need to efficiently manage customer calls and inquiries across the entire range of products, ensuring all sales-related tasks are completed on time and to a high standard. Timely and accurate order processing is key, and any potential issues must be communicated to the appropriate team member for prompt resolution. Supporting the growth of product sales is a fundamental objective.
