About the roleSMC Manufacturing is on an exciting growth journey, and we’re looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Account Manager to be part of our vibrant, founder-led company.Working with the team located in Inverness, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and achieving agreed sales targets.Overall you will work closely with the Operations Manager and R&D Lead to identify new sales opportunities, be responsible for all BD and account management, but you can also expect to:Prospect and Lead Generation:

  • Identify and generate new sales leads through various channels including cold calling, networking, and referrals.
  • Leverage existing leads and contacts to drive new business prioritising higher value prospects.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new & existing customers and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Manage all other customer queries, complaints and escalations aiming to resolve within agreed KPIs.

Sales Presentations and Negotiations:

  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate terms and close sales deals to achieve revenue and gross margin targets.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities and provide feedback and insights to the Group MD, CFO and Operations Director.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, sales progress & forecasts.

Hybrid role – minimum 2 days a week onsite.About you:To succeed in this role we think you’ll need a strong sales background, coupled with an understanding of the manufacturing sector. Ideally, you will also have an existing network in the cosmetics industry to lean on.

  • Proven background in sales delivery in a UK based beauty relevant manufacturer
  • Customer orientated approach
  • Previous experience in sales forecasting and analysis
  • Self starter with a proactive approach to building sales pipeline
  • Existing network and customer relationships
