Job Description:Your positionYou will be working in a team of about 25 people in the Applications & Solutions department, where you will focus mainly on electromagnetic applications, both from an experimental and modelling perspective.Based on a combination of advanced electro-mechanical engineering skills and high level numerical modelling skills, the aim is to contribute to the development of advanced steel solutions and co-engineering projects, and to ensure that OCAS is continuously at the forefront of technology.Specifically, you will contribute to specific projects on the electromagnetic behaviour of steel grades in close collaboration with researchers from Applications & Solutions and other departments. You will also monitor new trends in the field and identify the need for new research topics, with the ultimate aim of initiating new R&D projects with customers, international partners and other research laboratories.Your profile– You have a PhD in electromechanical engineering or have worked as an electromechanical engineer in an R&D environment for at least 5 years.– Experience in electromagnetic characterisation of electrical steels and modelling of electrical steel behaviour is an advantage– Mature personality with a healthy degree of independence, dedicated to industrial R&D, striving for accuracy and demonstrating scientific pride and honesty.– Excellent social skills towards team members, customers, ArcelorMittal group, etc. You have a high capacity to be flexible and handle a variety of projects.– Willing to travel regularly within Europe– Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Dutch is an advantageDoes this vacancy appeal to you and do you recognise yourself in the profile described? The main missions of Gent Research Center is to support ArcelorMittal market approach in the different sectors of Industry through enriched offer and services to customers, and to set up new industrial spinoff activities.
