ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Canola Breeding Research Associate is responsible for delivering high quality data to support canola advancement decisions. This role is responsible for all activities associated with undertaking canola field trials. A hands on role, with agricultural machinery and equipment operational skills, attention to detail and in field data collection.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Deliver high quality trails and high-quality data required for advancement of hybrids and inbreds.
· Manage the day to day running of canola field trials, including operations and data collection.
· Maintain vehicles and equipment in to meet safety and operational requirements.
· Apply high organizational skills, be able to establish project goals consistent with business unit goals which reflect internal and external customer needs
· Contract growers for field trials. Work with the grower to identify suitable sites that meet trial requirements
· A safety focus. Complete all tasks in a manner that minimises environmental impact and maximises safety.
Qualifications
· Degree – Agronomy, Biology, Plant sciences with equivalent experience in agriculture or related field
· Excellent interpersonal/communication skills are required, to be an effective team member enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong working relationships with a diverse group of people.
· High level computer skills
· Manage relationships grower cooperators.
· Coordinate daily staff activities
· Deliver quality trial sites to provide data required for key advancement decisions
· Be involved in in-field activity to ensure operations are completed on time and to a high standard
· Safety focused mindset. Complete tasks with safety as a top priority.
· Fork Loft license

Safety focus with goal to have Zero recordable incidents

Delivery of high-quality trial locations. Greater than 90% trials harvested with usable data.
