One 4-year research associate position is available as part of the USAF Project “CASPER++ Cognitive Architecture for Social Perception and Engagement in Robots for ethical and transparent collaboration”. The aim of this project is to design and develop a computational cognitive architecture for transparent share goal and intention reading in heterogenous multi-agent teams; and to validate the architecture for trust and task arbitration mechanism in shared human-robot interaction and trust tasks.The candidate will carry out research on the design of robot cognitive architectures for trust, as per CASPER++ project plan. A PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence or allied disciplines is required. Excellent programming skills are essential, as well as robotics and/or machine learning skills. Previous experience and publication track record in robot cognitive modelling or AI is an essential requirement.The research associate will be working collaboratively as part of the Cognitive Robotics Lab at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Professor Angelo Cangelosi.
