Remote Supports Director

Position Summary:

The Remote Supports Director will be an integral key team member of the state’s operations management team responsible to help expand the use of remote supports and assistive technology to help the individuals that MENTOR serves increase their level of independence.

Essential Job Functions: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below. 

  • Maintain a passion for helping to identify and coordinate quality services and supports that lead to growth and independence for the individuals that MENTOR serves.
  • Collaborate with the leadership across the state (including Regional Directors, Area Directors, and Program Directors) to assess individuals for the use of remote supports and assistive technology to support their care needs.
  • Coordinate all follow-ups related to these assessments, including identifying and vetting the technology options.
  • Work with team members to incorporate any remote supports and/or assistive technology into the individual service plans. 
  • Serve as the liaison with the technology vendor companies, including scheduling demos, developing program specific implementation plans, and engaging ongoing with the vendors as applicable. 
  • Drive the training plan to ensure internal staff are well-versed with remote support and assistive technology capabilities, any state applicable policies, as well as have the necessary skills to discuss the options with individuals, their guardians and case managers. 
  • Engage with guardians and families to educate them on the use of remote supports and assistive technology, answer questions, and obtain consent.
  • Engage with case managers, county boards, and other key local and regional stakeholders to educate them on the use of remote supports and assistive technology and to drive support.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in addition to RN license (Registered Nurse) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
  • 7-10 professional experience with preference for those with Health and Human Services industry and/or operational consulting experience
  • Experience working with the IDD community, homecare setting preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, as well as the ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Travel as needed to the regions within the state
  • Strong communication, analytical, facilitation, critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with a high degree of initiative.
