Job Overview

This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work in a technology-driven environment where your contributions will help Lifeway deliver high-quality Christian content to readers digitally. The primary responsibility of the eBook Developer Intern is to create eBook files by converting manuscripts into readable formats and testing them for compatibility across platforms.

Internship Program Details & Requirements

• Compensation: Lifeway’s summer internship program offers a competitive hourly pay rate, and all necessary equipment is provided.
• Work Schedule: Interns work an average of 32 hours per week, with core workdays from Tuesday to Thursday. The expectation is that the internship is the primary focus during working hours.
• Program Duration: June 2 – August 14, 2025 (11 weeks). Interns must commit to participating in the entire program.
• Eligibility: Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program and have completed at least two years of study by the internship start date. Recent graduates (December 2024 or May 2025) are also eligible.
• Development Opportunities: Weekly professional development sessions are provided, including specialized training, mentorship, and leadership development.
• Remote Structure: This is a remote position in the U.S., with required in-person attendance for orientation (June 2 – 5, 2025) and end-of-summer presentations (August 11-14, 2025) in Nashville. Travel costs for these events are covered by Lifeway.
• Application Deadline: Applications are due by December 31, with interviews beginning as soon as possible. Selections are finalized by April 1.

Responsibilities

• Live out Lifeway’s mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
• Convert manuscripts into eBook formats and ensure compatibility across platforms.
• Test eBooks on various devices and troubleshoot any formatting or usability issues.
• Collaborate with editorial and technical teams to optimize eBook production workflows.

Qualifications

Education

Computer Programming, or related field.

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

• Proficiency in eBook conversion tools and software.
• Familiarity with common eBook file formats (e.g., EPUB, MOBI).
• Strong attention to detail and technical problem-solving skills.

Actively involved in an evangelical Christian church

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, preferred 

• Experience with HTML, CSS, or XML for content formatting.
• Familiarity with digital publishing workflows.
