A Day in the Life

ANZ is the premier remote salesforce globally for MDT, renowned for our innovative approach and relentless pursuit of growth. We focus on developing strong customer relationships via an inside sales model, supporting customers who may be no longer be, or do not need to be served by a traditional face-to-face field sales representative model. Instead, we sell our products and support some specific customers via email and phone-based interactions: virtual sales! Our remote sales team are based in our Sydney office and work a minimum of 3 days in the office and can work up to 2 days from home.

If you are passionate about selling, are familiar with the remote sales model or believe it would be a great fit for your sales skills, have a flair for client communication, and feel you can drive sales effectively via a remote sales model, we’d like to meet you. Ideally, candidates for this role will know how to meet ambitious individual and team-wide sales quotas.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • The Remote Sales Representative role involves contacting customer accounts (e.g public hospitals, private hospitals, clinics, day surgeries etc) via phone and email to provide pricing, technical information, and to secure sales.
  • You’ll be part of a supportive team of experienced remote sales professionals as part of the broader Medtronic business with a strong focus on surgical sales, cardiovascular sales and the sale of products from across our 2 Portfolios: Medical Surgical and Cardiovascular
  • You will report into the Senior Supervisor Remote Sales, who in turn reports into the National Remote Sales Manager for ANZ.
  • In this role, you will liaise with cross-functional internal teams (including Customer Service, Medtronic Operating Units, Marketing teams and finance departments) to improve the entire customer experience, building customer relationships to achieve sales targets.

  • Making sales calls and preparing quotations
  • Closing and supporting the processing of orders
  • Learning technical details about multiple products, including features and benefits
  • Providing first-level support to customers
  • Managing sales tasks and information using CRM and other systems
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  • Collaborate with the broader remote sales team to identify and grow opportunities within your territory
  • Assist with challenging customer requests or issue escalations as needed
  • Arrange product demonstrations by field sales representatives to support your accounts as required

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree required
  • Proven experience in sales is required
  • Solid experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce,) and MS Office (particularly MS Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills (phone and email) – and keen to talk with customers
  • Some out of hours work may be required
  • 3 days minimum in Medtronic Sydney office per week, with Flex work available from home up to 2 days per week maximum
  • Integrity is paramount. Talking straight and seeking feedback is viewed as critical to success
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility with all levels of customer base
  • Well organized – able to set and reset priorities
  • Can engage internal and external stakeholders
