We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable childcare center in Naas, Co Kildare. Our client is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children and is seeking a Relief Childcare Cook to join their team.Job Summary:Our client is looking for a flexible and reliable Relief Childcare Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals to children in their care. The ideal candidate will have experience in cooking for large groups, preferably in a childcare or educational setting, and be able to adhere to dietary guidelines and restrictions.Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals and snacks in accordance with approved menus and nutritional guidelines.
• Ensure all meals meet the dietary needs and preferences of children, including those with allergies and special dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
• Collaborate with childcare staff to ensure meal times align with daily schedules.
• Monitor food inventory and report supply needs to the Childcare Center Manager.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
• Substitute for the regular cook during absences, ensuring continuity of meal service.
• Provide a friendly and supportive atmosphere for children during meal times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of child nutrition and dietary needs.
• Ability to prepare large quantities of food efficiently.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late afternoons as needed.
• Full clean driving license is preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

• QQI Level 6 in Culinary Skills is desired but not mandatory.
• Previous experience working in a childcare or educational environment.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
