Project Overview:
Bechtel Mining & Metals are seeking a Regional Lead for Project Risk to work in our Perth office. In this office we carry out jobs on a wide range of commodities including copper, uranium, gold, alumina, rare earths, lithium, iron ore, phosphates and others.
Job Summary:
As the Regional Lead for Project Risk, you will be responsible for delivering project risk management across a region where you will be providing expertise, guidance, and support for the risk management activities across our global business unit proposals and projects including project specific risk strategy, risk management framework set ups, deployment and training, technical expertise inputs to proposals in response to RFPs, ITTs etc. and liaisons with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
This is not a typical Project Risk Manager role, but rather a leading management role requiring a dynamic, quick thinker with abilities to see the bigger picture, engage in consultation and apply strategic solutions. The role requires a people person with ability to drive focus on PRM, lead through influence and connect PRM with key interfaces across the business or project scope. Working in close coordination with project leaders and functional managers, establishing stakeholder relationships and gaining proposal teams and project management teams’ trust, your broad experience in infrastructure, construction or engineering will support your ability to quickly grasp the policies, processes, and structures by which our projects work within.
Major Responsibilities:

Develop and deploy project risk management tools, procedures, and frameworks across projects.

Develop technical responses to proposals and consult with customer teams were necessary.

Deliver project risk management programs aligned with ISO:31000
-
Facilitate with an ability to maintain participant engagement for high level risk workshops, risk meetings and reviews.

Establish a clear understanding internally and externally of risk context (project specific)

Effectively interact across all layers of the project to influence risk culture.

Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-
Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in projects ideally within construction or infrastructure.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in dedicated roles managing project risk management.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
-
Demonstrated experience in Qualitative and a good understanding of Quantitative Risk Management is necessary.

Experience responding to proposal requests advantageous.

Experience with software packages is required, experience with ARM is advantageous.

Relevant recognized Diploma, Degree, or Professional Certification

Experience in the Infrastructure / Heavy Civil / Aviation / Rail/ Tunnelling/ Renewables / Mining / Construction is mandatory.
