Join Our Mission to Advance Human Security and the SDGs
The International Institute for Human Security (IIHS) is seeking dedicated Regional Contributors to join our global volunteer team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about peacebuilding, human security, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As a Regional Contributor, you will provide valuable regional insights through quarterly contributions, helping us foster global dialogue on pressing security challenges.
Position: Regional Contributor (Volunteer)
Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month
Duration: 1-year commitment (February 2025 – December 2025)
Location: Candidates must be currently living in or have lived in one of the following regions:
– Southeast Asia
– Middle East and North Africa (MENA)
– Africa
– Eastern Europe
– Oceania

What You’ll Do:
As a Regional Contributor, you will produce quarterly deliverables (articles, blogs, briefings, or reports) on themes related to human security and the SDGs. Your contributions will be published and recognized on IIHS platforms, providing you with exposure and writing credit. Contributors will also have flexibility to suggest and cover emerging regional issues after six months of successful contributions.

What We’re Looking For:
– Strong interest or background in peacebuilding, peace and security, or human rights.
– Understanding of regional dynamics and challenges related to human security and the SDGs.
– Experience with or knowledge of regional or grassroots development work.
– Excellent writing and analytical skills in English or French
