Job Description:We are recruiting for a Project Procurement Manager within the Siemens EA business (Electrification and Automation). We’re looking for a Procurement professional that is ready to step up into a role within a developing and growing team. You will be a procurement individual that is driven to learn, understand and develop themselves and support the team and key stakeholders bringing creative and innovative ideas and methods of working to support the needs and goals of the EA business unit.This role is based in Hebburn but not fixed as we offer Hybrid working with other flexible arrangements potentially available. With the potential need to travel 30% of the time where with 95% of our suppliers based in the UK and IrelandSo that we can support you to be your best during the application and interview process, please let us know if you have any specific requirements.You’ll make a difference by
- Actively support the Procurement and Supply Chain lead’s objectives to ensure the goals of the organisation are delivered and provide a lead for others in the Procurement team.
- Develop close working relationships with key suppliers
- Develop strategic activity plans for your areas of responsibility
- Strategic supplier visits supporting QA, HSE and others
- Develop procurement and sourcing strategies to support ensure best total value is achieved, sustainability initiatives are supported and delivering excellent customer support ensuring excellent supplier performance
- Detailed cost analysis of RFQ to ensure best value is achieved (Best of Best)
- Take ownership of the S2C process
- Present best commercial offering to tendering
- Develop & deliver procurement strategy for allocated projects, issue RFQ’s, conduct negotiation with suppliers, drive the selection process and raise/issue purchase orders in accordance with procurement procedures, to meet objectives. (Typically, up to £5 million).
- Build upon the positive relationships with key stakeholders already developed with other divisions in the UK, identifying ‘Best Practices’ and motivating the businesses to achieve critical goals.
- Build and develop very strong close relationships with the Project Management, QA, Tendering and sales teams to ensure collaborative working approach.
- Keep the business aware of market trends relevant to their business and contribute to inter-departmental relationships by providing information and advice as necessary.
- Find opportunities to maximise the benefits of e-Business solutions, SAP functionality and the introduction and implementation of new initiatives.
- Develop fixed pricing options where applicable
- Play an active role in the tendering process applicable to business unit to enable cost competitive offering to customers whilst ensuring compliance with procurement process.
- Actively identify and raise awareness of potential supply chain issues and instigate actions to mitigate.
Your defining qualitiesEssential:
- Strong Data analytical skills – compiling, issuing, reviewing and decision making
- Strong MS office skills – Word, Excel, Powerpoint (Power BI is significant advantage)
- Experience working in a Strategic procurement role – Ideally in same or adjacent industry
- Experience in effective Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
- Experience of reading engineering drawings – schemes, GA’s, wiring diagrams and CAD
- Strong effective Negotiations skills
- Strong cost analysis skills
- Proven track record of strategic souring
- Strong interpersonal skills and organisational skills
Desirable:
- CIPS or desire to work towards CIPS
- Experience in the same industry – Electrical Installation
- Product knowledge and experience
- Contract management experience
