Our client, a prominent main contractor in Ireland, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee a railway project located in Cork. This long-term project is expected to span 2 to 8 years. Apply now to enhance your career with a top construction company.Responsibilities

  • Lead all project management and contractual activities to ensure successful project delivery, maintaining adherence to established timelines, budget constraints, and specifications.
  • Foster a collaborative environment among the project team, including clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform the role of NEC Project Manager, managing all aspects of contract administration and construction management on behalf of the client.
  • Proactively monitor and manage the project schedule to ensure timely completion.
  • Accurately assess progress payments and early warning notices.
  • Address and resolve claims and compensation events in accordance with NEC ECC guidelines, providing monthly reports on critical issues.
  • Offer expert recommendations and advice to IÉ on contractual matters throughout the project’s lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a strong Civils background
  • Previous experience on rail projects is ideal but not necessary
  • Proficient in utilizing NEC 3 or 4 contracts, particularly Option C – target cost contracts, during the post-contract phase.
  • Holds a degree in Project or Construction Management, Engineering, or a related qualification in project management.
  • Ideally possesses NEC4 ECC PM Accreditation.
  • Executes the responsibilities of the NEC Project Manager in alignment with the NEC Conditions of Contract.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, effective negotiation abilities, and exceptional communication capabilities, coupled with commercial acumen and a resilient mindset.
  • Takes the lead in establishing and executing technical and quality compliance standards.
