About the roleOwn your career, and you can build something to be proud of at Balfour Beatty.By joining our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Project Manager you will be have overall accountability for successful project delivery including; planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out on our Scottish Power projectsWhat you’ll be doing
- Hold periodic project reviews and update the Digital Briefcase
- Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made
which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy
- Prepare and present both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
- Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables

Health, Safety & Environmental
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in
legislation
- Carry out Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety
initiatives
- Lead Accident/Incident Investigations and monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement actions
- Review RAMS and accepting subcontractor RAMS
- Develop H&S plan and ensure it is treated as a live document and ensure sufficiency and competency of workforce
- Coordinate and manage all project activities and internal functions and identify and control resource to deliver works
- Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans and raise
appropriate requests
- Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with
internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the
team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and
performance management.
- Lead risk/opportunity reviews, ownership of the Risk Register and
recommend/implement changes. Log and escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at delegated level of authority
- Manage subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and
progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that
contractual arrangements are achieved
- Ensure assurance activities (audits) are undertaken and take appropriate
action on findings and lead working groups on focused improvement areas
- Monitor progress and implement Short Interval Control processes/hold weekly
meeting and ensure production of operational milestones reflect master schedule and customer expectationsWho we’re looking for
- Formal qualification in project management or equivalent experience
- In depth understanding and practical experience of NEC contracts
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience in delivering 132KV to 400KV Projects
