Project ManagerHybrid – AdlingtonCirca £50,000 – £65,00025 days Holiday + bank holidays, pension scheme, annual bonus, employee assistance program, onsite parking, employee discounts / benefits such as cinema tickets and gym membership discount, contribution towards eye test and glasses.Start date ASAPWe are an engineering and projects delivery business specialising in design, installation, project management and consultancy of turnkey processing plants and bulk material handling systems across several sectors, including quarrying, ports, cement, renewables, tunnelling, and aggregates.Due to growth within the business, we are looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle and delivering the scope as per the agreed budget and schedule, whilst ensuring the target margin is realised.They are a key figure within the business, driving progress across several different departments to ensure our projects are executed in line with our company policies, processes and objectives.The Project Manager monitors progress, leads project reviews, drives completion, and summarizes project status into internal and external project reports. They are also the main point of contact for the client.Candidate requirements

  • HND in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Formal project management qualification (PMI, APM)
  • Demonstratable experience with projects within a construction environment.
  • Demonstratable experience of delivering projects under both standard and non-standard contract terms.
  • Project Controls experience, including planning, monitoring and reviewing of both schedules and cost.
  • Ability to understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Confident decision maker and able to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts effectively and in a professional manner.
  • Able to coordinate work carried out by different people/departments and organisations.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with MS Project/P6 and cost control software
  • Additional hours may be required to be worked in line with business requirements.
  • Be prepared to travel / stay overnight to carry out role & responsibilities.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable experience

  • Project management experience in heavy engineering (large lifts, heavy steelwork etc)
  • Understanding of conveyors or bespoke, engineered, technical solutions
  • Relevant costing knowledge of conveyers/similar industries
  • Experience of working with NEC3/government infrastructure projects
  • Degree qualified in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies.
  • Accredited Leadership & Management training.

Major duties

  • Provide input and support into project proposals during the bid and pre-contract stage.
  • Review all project and contractual documents on assignment of contract to ensure all project and contractual requirements are understood and documented.
  • Develop a Project Execution Plan to reflect the companies project management procedure and in line with client requirements.
  • Identify criteria for completion of contract and develop actionable plan for closing out contract.
  • Develop and maintain project cost tracking, assign budgets for all elements of works, and approve project spend. Escalate overspends prior to commi
