Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Project Development Manager​ to join their team in Alice Springs, NT – Australia.

THE ROLE

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Project Development Manager works closely with the Engineering, Projects, Integration & Construction (EPIC) Leadership to enable and optimize the delivery of wholistic evolution of the proposal development services to support the construction, operation, maintenance and management of facility assets, infrastructure and systems in Alice Springs. This position plays an integral role within a diverse and complex work environment that is responsible for the management and control of critical infrastructure configuration, construction and project management.

The Project Development Manager is responsible for the delivery and management of both complex and strategic proposals that will align with the required policies and procedures of the customer and Amentums expectations, all whilst driving project development from proposals through to ready-to-build stage, managing key workstreams and stakeholder relationships.

Within the position the Project Development Manager will be required to lead a multidisciplinary team through the proposal processes, managing due diligence, mentoring and managing team development and training to foster growth and internal development of the turnkey solution to the customer.

The Project Development Manager will have strong leadership and team management capabilities, all with strong written and verbal communication skills as well as negotiation skills to prepare project reports on process, budge, schedule, issues, risk and opportunities.

Project management experience ideally within the engineering or construction field, a proven track record in negotiation of successful project development outcomes with stakeholders. Ability to undertake effective stakeholder management and client engagement particularly within industry to identify and address emerging issues and opportunities, including managing competing work priorities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the end-to-end Proposals documentation process, including understanding RFP, RFI’s, developing solutions, SOW preparation, bid analysis, strategic planning and proposal development.

  • Effectively manage the customer clarification process from the beginning of the RFP phase and throughout the entirety of the Proposal lifecycle.

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of all current, future and completed, proposals.

  • Ensure all proposal documentation is maintained IAW current document control processes.

  • Oversee detailed project execution packages in support of awarded proposals.

  • Facilitate handover meetings with Construction Project Managers.

  • Ensure, promote, and maintain health and safety practices/compliances at site and within the workplace.

  • Develop highly effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders

  • Any other reasonable duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate Qualifications

Field: Business, Management, or Project Management.

Desirable

  • Post Graduate Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Demonstrated Supervisor/Leadership Experience

  • Experience delivering or bidding projects

  • Proposal or Project Management Experience

  • Experience in preparing SOW for Design & Construction, Engineering, Procurement and Construction contracts.

  • SharePoint experience

  • Proposal Planning and Microsoft Project management

  • Proposal preparation using Microsoft Office suite and Adobe

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 10kgs, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, and must be able to work under deadlines.
