Job description

Morgan McKinley are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join an expanding supply chain team in Dublin.The Production Planner is responsible for managing and coordinating the production schedule to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing process, This Planner will efficiently plan and schedule production activities, ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing process. The role involves working cross-functionally with the wider supply chain department to meet production targets, optimize inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of products.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure production activities are aligned with schedule requirements.
  • Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand, supply issues, or equipment breakdowns.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
  • Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce waste.
  • Work closely with the procurement, logistics, and sales teams to align production plans with supply chain and market demand.
  • Communicate production schedules and any changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to address any production or supply chain issues.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, schedule adherence, and inventory levels.
  • Utilize ERP systems and other software tools to manage and track production activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
