The role:

We are currently seeking a Procurement Officer to join our team at our North Melbourne location. While this will be an autonomous role, you will work alongside the existing Procurement team to drive the strategic purchasing and cost control optimisation objectives for BVAQ.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage specific contracts within direction of category management strategy and plans, and be the single point of contact for suppliers on all contract matters

  • Manage highly complex/sensitive procurement activities

  • Represent and promote the procurement function ad its services/expertise

  • Develop rapport with key business stakeholders at varying levels across the department

  • Obtain maximum value from suppliers by negotiating cost and contract terms in line with business objectives on all BVAQ procurement activities across Australia and New Zealand

  • Provision of commercial and procurement expertise, adice and assistance to internal stakeholders

  • Manage vendors to maintain and improve service levels and optimise cost to company

  • Initiate and report on cost savings projects

  • Develop, implement, and maintain best practice internal procurement and contract management policy, procedures, work instructions, and standards to ensure compliance with Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics

  • Develop and release tenders for supply contracts, supplier briefings, and evaluation processes as required

  • Undertake reporting related to procurement activities and maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of procurement practices, policies, and guidelines

Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and the ability to meet site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.
