As a Principal Specialist in GT Technology Management, you’ll play a pivotal role as both a Jurisdiction & Classification (JC) and a Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Specialist. You’ll bring to the table not only a deep understanding of our products but also an intimate knowledge of the regulations governing their export and import.

What You Will Do

• Working under/within the following U.S. Regulations; Export Administration Regulation (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) and HTS
• Perform most sophisticated JC analysis and validation (resolution of JC escalation, supplier issues, etc.)
• Perform HTS classifications.
• Support investigations and reviews of possible GT escapes and disclosures.
• Determine root cause of escapes and implement corrective actions to support process improvement.
• Analyze business needs (including technology needs) with respect to export authorization requirements
• Prepare and submit Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) and Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System (CCATS) to government agencies.
• Support development and delivery of formal and informal J/C and HTS Focal training.

• You’ll learn to navigate regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance in all aspects of global trade operations.
• Through hands-on experience, you’ll refine your analytical skills and become adept at navigating complex Jurisdiction and Classification determinations.
• You’ll develop a deep understanding of HTS classification principles and techniques, ensuring precise and compliant classification of goods.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Qualifications We Prefer

• BS/MS Engineering or Business Administration
• Engineering and/or technical background
• Aerospace (program/technical) experience
• Experience with classifications under the World Customs Organization (WCO) HTS
• Experience with US Export (classification) Regulations; specifically the EAR and the Commerce Control List (CCL), ITAR and the United States Munitions List (USML)
• 1 to 2 years working with GT and related export/HTS classification matters
• Experience with Collins/RTX current trade compliance related processes (classifications, authorizations, logging, compliant transfer modes, record keeping, etc.) and Collins specific GT related systems (GTS, OCR, MKDenial, xClass, TEXPORT) is a plus.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD – 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
