• Design and implement QST approaches to aid investigation of drug safety questions to enhance mechanistic understanding and provide translational risk assessment
• Provide consultancy and training in understanding quantitative systems toxicology approaches across NCS and RD
• Provide direction on generating non-clinical experimental model input data, embedding established modelling approaches and contextualisation of modelling outputs (in conjunction with conventional Non-Clinical toxicology endpoints)
• Work with internal and external partners to guide development and deployment of new QST models
• Identify and implement state-of-the-art machine learning and statistical approaches to assist in the interpretation of cellular and molecular assay outcomes
• Work collaboratively, establish and maintain close working relationships with RD modellers, data scientists and NCS biological scientists with contributions to experimental study designs to support relevant modelling approaches
• Produce high quality written documentation of methodologies applied (e.g. protocol contributions, scope of work), analysis results and interpretation for internal decision making purposes and inclusion in regulatory submissions as required

• PhD relevant in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Computational Biology, Scientific Computing or related field
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary environment with good communication skills
• Expertise in scientific computing and programming such as R, Python, MATLAB
• Experience of using quantitative mathematical modelling approaches linking mechanistic drug disposition and toxicology/pharmacology endpoints to support the progression of drug discovery and development programmes
• Experience in applying mechanism based mathematical modelling techniques and machine learning approaches in the life sciences
• Core competency in numerical analysis focusing on differential equations and parameter optimisation.
