Ref: AGSPOAS/1124 Job Title: Principal Officer – Garda Síochána Analysis Service, An Garda Síochána Location: Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park, Dublin 8 Salary: Starting from €102.913 Application Method: GetGot Application form only – https://staffline.getgotjobs.ie The Role The GSAS Principal Officer senior manager has overall responsibility for the delivery of analysis outputs to a defined group of Garda regions and/or specialist units. This includes the full range of GSAS services from investigation support to bespoke reports. The role involves prioritising the work of the teams in line with business needs and ensuring that common standards (methodology) are established and followed. GSAS is responsible for the quality of information provided to investigators, as input to management decisions and contained in reports that they author. The role also includes highlighting underlying data quality issues and supporting data quality improvement initiatives, although GSAS is not directly responsible for micro data quality. The GSAS PO will drive the use of new techniques, tools, data sources and data visualisations in their areas, while ensuring that technologies and techniques are not used in production until proven and formally adopted by GSAS overall. The PO is also responsible for building a highly professional analytics practice through the continuous professional development of their analyst teams – both technical and communications skills. The PO will also play a key role in supporting the Director in the development of the GSAS vision and strategy as well as the overall plans for Garda data and technology. The role requires a strong combination of data analysis and leadership skills to build high-quality analysis and analytics practice.
