Responsibilities

AAN Associates is actively looking for qualified individuals, experienced in leading/conducting complex randomized impact evaluations to fill the role of Principal Investigator for a potential project. Candidates with experience for UN Agencies, bi/multilateral donors and INGOs such as World Bank, UNICEF, WHO, WFP, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and African Development Bank, IFAD, BMGF to name a few, are highly encouraged to apply. As a Principal Investigator the professional will be responsible for:

  1. Crafting and executing a comprehensive impact evaluation strategy that integrates seamlessly with our development objectives.
  2. Taking charge of designing and overseeing the implementation of our impact evaluation plan, ensuring thoroughness and precision at every stage.
  3. Upholding the highest standards of scientific rigor and ethical integrity throughout the evaluation process.
  4. Leading the interpretation of evaluation findings and driving their dissemination through publication in esteemed peer-reviewed journals.
  5. Providing mentorship and guidance to our dedicated research teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  6. Implementing robust quality assurance mechanisms to guarantee the reliability and accuracy of our research data.
  7. Collaborating closely with external evaluators and auditors to enhance the credibility and trustworthiness of our evaluation efforts.
  8. Contributing insights and expertise to mid-term and final project reviews, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  9. Facilitating capacity-building initiatives for our research team members, empowering them to excel in their roles.
  10. Actively engaging with stakeholders, sharing impactful findings, and representing our project at relevant forums and events.

Requirements:

  • A PhD in Economics or Public Policy
  • At least 10 years of experience in leading large scale and complex randomized impact evaluations resulting in recent (within the past 5 years) publications in reputed peer reviewed international journals is required.
  • Peer reviewed publications that include a focus on public health, WASH, behavior change related to public health, child health including stunting, and community participation in development will be a significant plus.
