About the role:
Our national Geosciences team is an integrated geotechnical engineering, hydrogeological and environmental consultant to a wide range of clients working on infrastructure, development and mining projects, both for private and public entities across Australia. We provide support to clients across the entire project lifecycle, from project planning, investigations, and assessments through to analysis, design, and construction. We currently have an opportunity for a Principal level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in our Perth office.

Day to day tasks would involve:

Plan, coordinate and manage site investigations to deliver geotechnical investigative reports – including interpreting geotechnical data, performing analysis and making recommendations.

Undertaking geotechnical analysis in areas such as slope stability, pavement designs, foundations and retaining walls

Contribute to the delivery of projects, ensuring work outputs are of a high technical standard

Undertake interpretation and analysis of data to develop and implement practical and commercial solutions

Managing key projects from start to finish in line with project specifications

Promote a culture of high performance, delivery and continuous improvement and mentor and coach more junior team members

Support the Team Leader and others across the company on opportunities and pursuits

Provide input to strategic planning and implementation of initiatives within the business unit
To be successful for this role you’ll need:
-
Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with completion of geotechnical electives and/or major as part of your university studies
-
8 years’ practical experience, preferably with a geotechnical engineering consultancy
-
Chartered Engineering credentials
-
Experience in field geotechnical investigations including logging and supervision of geotechnical drilling activities
-
Experience with engineering software packages such as gINT/Tablogs, GEOSTUDIO, PLAXIS, ROCSCIENCE, CIRCLY would be of assistance

A demonstrated passion for working in the geotechnical engineering discipline

Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development

Valid/current driver’s licence and the ability to travel to sites for field work
