That means huge exposure to increasingly complex infrastructure projects, masses of expertise at your fingertips, and a supportive culture in which to grow your skills, confidence and career.This is an exciting opportunity for a Pre Construction Manager to join our Civils team covering the North West.What you’ll be doingLead the delivery of Preconstruction projects, and conversion into Construction Contracts for the Balfour Beatty Regional Civils Works. Projects will be within the Civil Engineering sector including, Highways, Active & Sustainable Travel, Flood and Coastal and Energy Transition. Projects ranging from 5M to 100M.Lead two-stage pre-construction and tender activities in line with health and safety, budget requirements and customer drivers setting the pre-construction strategy and converting opportunities into construction contracts.Lead PCSA / 2-stage pre-construction activities in line with budget requirements and customer drivers for Civil Engineering and infrastructure projectsEnsure that pre-construction and tender deliverables are produced in a timely and effective mannerManage Balfour Beattys internal governance processManage the completion of contract governanceFormulate and implement the pre-construction strategy to deliver the project and convert into a construction contractFormulate and implement the pre-construction strategy to deliver the projectComplete written responses to relevant tender questions submitted as part of a bid or pre-construction processConsider the commercial attractiveness of project and report conclusions early to managementAssist in setting process key objectives and timescales, including managing bid cost / pre-construction budgetsIdentify significant development/project risks and opportunities and report these using the IRIS systemIdentify, report and manage significant development/project risks and opportunitiesMeet customers on a regular basis and respond to queriesConvert 2-stage opportunities to on-site delivery projectsLiaise with the customer and act as the point of contact for delivering any aspects of the bid or pre-construction processWho we’re looking forPrevious experience within the civil engineering or construction industry is necessaryResults driven with an understanding of risk management and profitTeam player who encourages high standards and is quality drivenFlexible to ensure deadlines are metCapable of managing multiple bids and teams at the same time, each with different priorities and levels of complexityStrong negotiatorGood interpersonal and communication skills are required,Customer focussed with the ability to recognise value opportunitiesAbility to travel within the Region and NationallyAble to obtain and maintain Security ClearanceWhy work for usDay in, day out, our teams deliver amazing projects in challenging conditions; developing, managing and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies and communities rely on.About usIn UK Construction Services England & Wales business, our aim is to be the partner of choice; the go-to in our sector, trusted to deliver for our customers.
