We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Portuguese speaking Human Resources Manager to join a successful manufacturing and export company. You will be responsible for all human resources operations for both their UK & Portugal based offices.Location of the job
Hybrid work – UK office is in Cambridge, ideally 3 days a week in the office + 2 days a week work from home /remote.Language requirements for the job

As Portuguese speaking Human Resources Manager you will have 100% control of all employee HR operations for the office and manufacturing facility in Portugal as well as the UK office.You role will typically include the following duties and responsibilities:

• Overseeing recruitment, selection and the onboarding process
• Managing a company’s appraisal system and conducting appraisal meetings
• Ensuring that a company’s procedures comply with employment regulations
• Monitoring various aspects of an employee’s performance, such as attendance and sick leave
• Accessing the need for training and then designing and implementing training programs accordingly
• Handling any disciplinary processes and formal grievances
• Setting and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in compliance with UK employment laws and regulations.
• Oversee the recruitment and selection process, including job analysis, job descriptions, job postings, and applicant screening and interviewing in accordance with UK employment law
• Manage employee relations issues in compliance with Portugal and UK employment law, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
• Complete Human Resource administrative tasks and maintain and update Human Resource related correspondence.
• Process work visa applications where necessary.

The successful candidate background

• Fluency in Portuguese and English is essential
• Previous HR management level experience in both the UK and Portugal
• Excellent knowledge of all employment law and HR related regulations relating to both Portugal and the UK
• Knowledge of payroll, compensation and benefits relating to both the UK and Portugal
• CIPD qualified advantage but not essential
• IT Proficient (including MS Office)
• Exceptional organisation skills
• Strong ability to prioritise workload
• Excellent attitude to work and colleagues
• Ability to travel to Portugal office when required

Salary, benefits and working hours
