3. Scope of work
As part of the project (22-11-EFI-TCB), aim of raising awareness about violence against women and girls and promoting peacebuilding. Dawlaty is looking for Podcast host, who can produce and delivering up to three podcast episodes, each 20 minutes long, which align with themes addressing violence VAWG and peacebuilding.
The service provider will be responsible for recording, music features and all production related processes.
4. Responsibilities of Dawlaty
• Provide clear guidelines and briefs, including Outline specific goals, target audience, and desired tone to support the successful delivery of work.
• Provide necessary materials and background information, such as research and books.
• Close consultation and coordination with the service provider to agree on product identity and quality, product objectives, timeframes and other necessary practicalities, for each of the requested tasks.
• Ensure timely payments, Process payments according to the agreed-upon terms and conditions.
• Dawlaty has a right to divide the quotations to obtain the deliverables as it deems appropriate.
• Dawlaty has the right to contract with one or more service providers as it deems appropriate.
5. Responsibilities of the Service Provider
● Write episode outlines, scripts, and interview questions to guide conversations.
● Identify and research potential guests who can provide valuable insights and perspectives.
● Reach out to potential guests, schedule interviews, and coordinate with them to ensure their availability and preparation for recording sessions.
● Conduct high-quality audio recordings, ensuring clear sound and minimal background noise.
● Technical Editing: Edit audio files to remove errors, balance sound levels, eliminate background noise, and enhance overall audio quality. Incorporate music, sound effects, and transitions as necessary to create a polished and professional final product
● Content Editing: Review and refine the recorded content in collaboration with the designated Dawlaty representative to ensure clarity, coherence, and logical flow. Remove redundant or off-topic sections, maintain a consistent tone, and align the narrative with the podcast’s goals to deliver an engaging and impactful listening experience
● Submit final cut versions of the podcasts in the required formats as agreed upon and in compliance
● Ensure compliance with local broadcasting regulations and ethical guidelines, including avoiding defamation and misinformation.
For technical tasks, such as recording and editing, the Podcast Producer may subcontract to ensure optimal delivery of the Product under the Terms. (e.g. Podcast Producer).

Note: output details to be agreed upon with Dawlaty representative, and in accordance with Dawlaty Guidelines.

● Full copyright of the podcasts and all designs submitted will rest with Dawlaty.
● Proof of compliance with copyright standards must accompany all media elements. This includes certificates for purchased music and rights for graphics or images used.
● The extent of implementing Dawlaty’s guidelines and avoiding copyright issues (e.g., using original music or submitting proof of purchase) will be agreed upon during the planning phase.
7. Payment terms
Fee quotations shall cover all expenses including but not exclusive to bank charges, VAT taxes, and any other expenses which may be incurred by the service provider.
For the payment to be processed by Dawlaty, the following documents must be present with each payment:
● Invoice
● Deliverables (if receivable)
● Service Receipt Note SRN / GRN
In case the payment for a specific month was less than $100 Dawlaty and the contractor have agreed to postpone the payment to another month so the amount would be above $100.
The Service provider’s invoice will be paid by Dawlaty within thirty (30) Working days of receipt of the invoice and accept the service by Dawlaty. Payment will be made as per Contract Currency.
The payment will be transferred as bank transfer.
8. Inspection of Services
A. Definition. “Services,” as used in this clause, includes services performed, workmanship, and material furnished or utilized in the performance of services.
B. Dawlaty retains the right to inspect and test all services called for by this Contract, to the extent practicable at all times and places during the term of the Contract. NGO Name shall perform inspections and tests in a manner that will not unduly delay the work.
C. If Dawlaty performs inspections or tests on the premises of the Contractor or a subcontractor, the Contractor shall furnish, and shall require subcontractors to furnish, at no increase in contract price, all reasonable facilities and assistance for the safe and convenient performance of these duties.
D. If any of the services do not conform with Contract requirements, Dawlaty may require the Service Provider to perform the services again in conformity with Contract requirements, at no increase in Contract amount. When the defects in services cannot be corrected by performance, Dawlaty may:
a) Require the Service Provider to take necessary action to ensure that future performance conforms to Contract requirements; and
b) Reduce the Contract price to reflect the reduced value of the services performed.
E. If the Service Provider fails to promptly perform the services again or to take the necessary action to ensure future performance in conformity with contract requirements, Dawlaty may:
a) By contract, perform the services and charge to the Service Provider any cost incurred by Dawlaty that is directly related to the performance of such service; or;
b) Terminate the contract for default.
9. Required qualifications and experience
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
● have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in podcast, interviewing guests.
● Excellent communication and organizational skills.
● Creative mindset with a strong attention to detail.
● The ability to write engaging, clear, and concise scripts.
● The capacity to generate original and innovative ideas.
● The ability to adjust to changes and challenges.
● Having knowledge in audio editing software, microphone techniques and recording equipment.
● The ability to complete tasks at the time.
● Knowledge of and experience working in Syrian contexts strongly preferred
● Knowledge of gender, human rights, civil society, civic and democratic values, and civil activism is essential
