Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, largescale transformation journey to build a bigger, better, and safer National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.Role Purpose:Every week, millions of people play National Lottery games online, via the National Lottery website or App. Understanding the behaviours of our growing number of digital players is crucial, to enable business growth and generate more returns to good causes.Working within the CRM team, the Player Insight Analyst is responsible for extracting, manipulating and analysing digital customer data to derive actionable insights that drive marketing strategies and business decisions. This role helps to generate a deep understanding of player behaviour and shape our approach to customer engagement and retention.You will be responsible for owning, maintaining and developing key performance reports, to support regular trading and digital performance understanding.Additionally, you will undertake ad-hoc customer analytics projects. An example could involve investigating how many digital EuroMillions players we have, what their demographic profile is, what combinations of games they play and how often, how they navigate our website or app and what are their main triggers or barriers to play, to understand what works or doesn’t work within our marketing and products.Role Responsibilities:Analytics

  • Use a variety of analytical tools (e.g. SQL, Excel, PowerBI, Adobe) and methods to deliver regular reports and deep dive strategic analytics
  • Contribute towards maintaining and developing regular player performance reports
  • Automate reports where possible and work with technology to evolve and optimise dashboards

Insight

  • Using new or existing data from a variety of sources, create concise, impactful presentations with meaningful insights and recommendation
  • Communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with marketing and commercial planning teams to translate data insights into actionable strategies
  • Build strong network of relationships with stakeholders across departments to enable things to get done quickly and effectively

Key Skills and Experience:

  • 1 years’ experience or a higher level education qualification in a relevant field (data analysis, mathematics, statistics, business)
  • Proficiency in using Excel and SQL (or other programming language such as R, Python) to manipulate large volumes of data
  • Experience with visualization tools such as PowerBI, and web analytics tools such as Adobe/Piano is an advantage, however training can be provided to support these
  • Passionate about understanding customer behaviours
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a deadline oriented environment#
  • Ability to evaluate quantitative data sets and determine “big picture” implications
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
