Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pharmacy Technician with a background in Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) to join our team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacy operations, assist with prior authorization processes, and collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to ensure effective medication management. This role is crucial in optimizing drug utilization, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring compliance with PBM policies.

This is a fully remote position. The official title of this position is “Clinical Specialist” but to garner more attention and provide transparency we are generally looking for a pharmacist with PBM experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the submission, review, and documentation of prior authorization requests, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

  • Aid in medication therapy management by providing necessary information to healthcare providers and patients, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens.

  • Work closely with PBM pharmacists to develop and implement formulary changes, utilization management strategies, and compliance reporting.

  • Communicate with patients and healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues, provide drug information, and facilitate optimal patient care.

  • Maintain accurate records of prior authorizations, medication requests, and other relevant data to support PBM operations and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.

  • Current and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Hawaii.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a PBM or managed care pharmacy setting.

  • Strong understanding of pharmacy benefit management, formulary development, and medication therapy management.

  • Board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or managed care pharmacy (BCMCP) preferred.

  • Proficiency in pharmacy-related software and technology for claims processing, drug utilization review, and data analysis.

  • Ability to work effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to optimize medication therapy.

This is a fully remote position. Hours are 1p-9p Sunday-Thursday.
