This is a great opportunity to join a newly refurbished golf club in Buckinghamshire.You will be an efficient self-starter who has excellent attention to detail, team spirit, ability to work well under pressure while displaying fantastic member service skills.Duties as a PGA Trainee Professional:
- Assist the Director of Golf and Golf Operations Manager, with all aspects of the daily golf operations.
- Promote the game of golf and the club itself.
- Assist with the organisation and roll out of all competitions and tournaments at the club.
- Assist the Golf Operations Manager with the daily operation of the shop.
- Build a strong sense of community with the members.
- Liaise with Greenkeeping on course set-up for major tournaments.
- Complete the PGA Foundation Degree
- Teach the game of golf, its rules and etiquette.
- Compete in PGA Regional Tournaments
- Stay up to date with PGA studies and membership education requirements with the PGA of Great Britain & Ireland.
- Actively work to greet members and guests by name, getting to know their personal preferences. Display professional and competent personality to all members and guests.
- Assist the Golf Staff with all aspects of competitions and tournaments.
- Assist Director of Golf to enforce all rules and regulations governing golf course usage.
- Assist with Club Fittings and Demo Days.
- Assist in making tee time reservations whilst ensuring optimal golf course usage.
- Work closely with the Pro Shop Manager to ensure the Shop is fully stock, well presented and gives a seamless experience for members
- Play golf with members on a regular basis
A bit about you:
- Previous work experience in a golf environment is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
- Fluency in English
- Demonstrate self-confidence, energy, enthusiasm and be a good team player. Willing to adapt and change styles as and when necessary.
- Computer literate & able to work with Microsoft Office systems
- Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities, whilst handling a multitude of tasks and member’s requests.
