Championing locally owned alternatives, we endeavor to buttress the scope and impact of inclusive grassroots civic action and foment the development of holistic truth and understanding within and around the Syrian context.

Summary : Badael is actively seeking a skilled Peacebuilding and Gender Expert to join our team as a consultant. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting a Training of Trainers (TOT) session for our team, crafting training materials focused on women, peace, and security, and delivering training sessions aimed at empowering representatives from women-led groups.

The consultant shall perform the following duties:

1. Conduct an immersive and interactive online Training of Trainers (TOT) on women, peace, and security (WPS) , and the new agendas for peace.

2. Develop a robust and user-friendly training manual specifically dedicated to women, peace, and security, meticulously tailored to resonate with the diverse backgrounds and needs of our team. This manual will serve as a comprehensive resource during our engagements with representatives from women-led groups, women leaders, and young female activists.

3. Lead a series of seven dynamic training sessions, each focusing on the intricate dynamics of power and conducting in-depth feminist analyses. These sessions will be designed to empower participants from women-led groups and young women leaders, fostering critical thinking and actionable insights within the realm of peace and gender equality.

4. Provide coaching and mentoring to the Badael team, offering guidance and support as they implement the knowledge and skills acquired during the training. This coaching and mentoring will be aimed at enhancing their effectiveness in working with women-led groups and advancing gender-sensitive approaches in their peacebuilding efforts.

Expected deliverables:

  • Successful completion of an online Training of Trainers (TOT).
  • Development of high-quality training materials tailored for women-led group training.
  • Delivery of seven training sessions focused on power dynamics and feminist analysis.
  • Coaching and mentoring to Badael’s team.

Qualifications

  • Extensive expertise in both peacebuilding and gender studies, evidenced by a robust track record of impactful work in related fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and delivering training sessions, underpinned by a keen understanding of adult learning principles and innovative instructional techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of women, peace, and security, coupled with a nuanced understanding of evolving peace agendas worldwide.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Syrian context and feminist movement in Syria.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling seamless collaboration with diverse groups and the ability to foster inclusive learning environments.
  • A commitment to intersectional feminist principles and an understanding of how they intersect with peacebuilding efforts.
