Job DescriptionPayroll/Accounts AssistantDuties & Responsibilities:
Payroll

  • Process weekly and monthly payroll runs.
  • Collaborate with Department heads to validate payroll data.
  • Detailed knowledge of PAYE, PRSI, USC, BIK and ERR reporting.
  • Process net pay payments through EFT and Online Banking.
  • Manage ROS submissions and payroll-related returns.
  • Administration of Benefits Schemes including Pension and Bike to Work and other

taxable and non-taxable additions/deductions.

  • Prepare payroll cost analysis and journals for review and posting.

Accounts Assistance

  • Ensure appropriate processing of all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable invoices and receipts, posting to SAGE.
  • Making payments to Suppliers.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and Accounts Receivable Ledgers.
  • Dealing with queries from suppliers.
  • Review of all credit card transactions for authorisation and documentation and posting

of credit card transactions to SAGE.

  • Carrying out Monthly Bank Reconciliations.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT and RCT Returns to ROS.
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts and month end close procedures.
  • Processing and analysis of Petty Cash and accounting for same.
  • Involved in year-end Audits.
  • Handle correspondence, emails and phone calls professionally.
  • Other ad hoc finance duties to ensure the finance department is run smoothly & efficiently

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong Knowledge of payroll legislation and employment tax.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-starter with ability to take ownership and responsibility.
  • 2 plus years’ experience in a busy payroll environment.
  • Experience of using SAGE accounting software.
  • Good people and communication skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and multitask.
  • Excellent IT skills including experience of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Education and qualification:

  • IATI or similar qualification.
  • IPASS qualified.

€35000 per year
