Trócaire is seeking Global Expressions of Interest from people who are willing to voluntarily contribute their knowledge and skills to sit on our Organisation & Human Resources (OHR) Committee, a committee of the Board of Trócaire. We are particularly interested in Human Resource Professionals who have depth and breadth of experience in Safeguarding.The OHR Committee provides advice support and guidance to the Board and Executive on all matters relating to Human Resources. The Committee ensure a representative share of voice and strategic focus across our global employee population.In line with Trócaire Board and Committee Diversity policy, Trócaire is seeking candidates of diverse backgrounds and genders. In particular candidates;– whose background and/or ethnicity reflects the diversity of the communities Trócaire serves in Africa, Asia, Central America and the Middle East.– who have knowledge and experience of safeguarding and are confident to provide thought leadership and strategic direction to the committee.– who have worked in a complex culturally, racially and ethnically diverse organisation.The Committee has responsibility for overseeing specific areas within the organisation plan and agreed budget. These include:· Major changes in organisational structure required to deliver the strategic plan, with a particular focus on availability and deployment of staff resources.· Annual headcount and salary budgets.· Compensation philosophy, strategy and framework. Including the salary management processes and benchmarking mechanisms of all staff below the Chief Executive Officer.· Support, guide and advise the Remuneration Committee of the Board as required, in relation to the Chief Executive Officer’s compensation including pay, incentives, benefits and retirement benefits.· Monitor and report the organisation’s progress in the area of Safeguarding and protection.· Recommend a performance evaluation process for the Chief Executive Officer and when approved lead the process.· Report on the assurances and procedures in place to ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, legislation and regulations regarding employment practices.· Advise the Executive onbest practice developments in the area of human resources and industrial relations; the development of internal policy documents that give effect to employment legislation and best practice; Recruitment of senior management positions; any other matters related to internal human resources issues.RequirementsCandidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:· Demonstrable track record of success working as a senior leader in Human Resource roles in complex global organisations, with specific regard to the duties listed above.· Depth and breadth of HR experience of the charity sector, and international NGO sector, is essential.· Expertise in the global implications of safeguarding within the HR context.· Expertise in culture, the employee experience and change management.For further information on the OHR/ People and Culture Committee, please contact the Head of HR, Marina Meehan, at , or express your interest directly by submitting a short cover note and CV to Workable.BenefitsAll OHR meetings take place on Teams.We have 4 x 3 hour meetings a year with an expectation that people invest time of approx. 8 hours before the meetings; reading documents and networking with other members of the committee.Candidates who wish to be considered should submit a short cover note and CV to workable.Closing date for applications is 26th April 2024Please note that we are looking for the position to be taken no earlier than June 2024.Any candidate offered a Board or Board Committee role with Trócaire will be expected to sign Trócaire’s Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy, and agree to conduct themselves in accordance with the provisions of these documents.
