Operations Specialist

Position Overview

Note: Candidates in Galway, Ireland will be prioritized. 

At Blockdaemon, an Operations Specialist is a key individual responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and effective operations within an organization. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate processes, improve workflows, and manage operational projects to optimize performance and achieve organizational goals. This role typically involves problem-solving, project management, and liaising between teams to ensure operational excellence. The ideal candidate is process-driven, highly organized, and eager to make an impact.

Your Impact

• Operations & Strategy:
• Monitor daily operations and assess existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
• Develop, build, and implement operational processes and procedures across departments to improve productivity, effectiveness, and alignment with company goals.
• Identify and resolve operational issues promptly, providing support and solutions during emergencies or operational disruptions.
• Project Management:
• Lead, coordinate, and execute operational projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
• Track and report on project progress and manage timelines to ensure the successful implementation of operational projects.
• Data Reporting & Analysis:
• Create reports and dashboards to analyze operational data and identify trends.
• Assist leadership in preparing operational reports and strategizing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Act as a liaison between departments to ensure smooth workflows and seamless collaboration.
• Communicate changes in processes and operational updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Train teams on new procedures, tools, or protocols as needed and provide ongoing operational support to teams and individuals.
• Documentation:
• Manage and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and other documentation for key processes to ensure knowledge is shared across the organization.
• Create how-to guides or FAQs to improve team productivity, automation, and the scalability of internal systems and workflows.

Role Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in operations, process improvement, project management, or a similar role.
• Technical Proficiency with operational tools and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Salesforce)
• Demonstrated success in:
• Optimizing operational workflows.
• Pulling and analyzing data for reporting and operational insights.
• Key Competencies:
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and present data to drive decision-making.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with a proven ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving inefficiencies.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
• Adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Nice-to-have Skills

• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis/reporting
• Experience with creating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and onboarding teams to new processes
• Ability to see the big picture and connect day-to-day operations with long-term company goals
