The Analyst will support the Manager and contribute to the overall operational performance of the organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in controlling and reporting, and transforming the function into a forward-looking, digitally skilled business.We support the Gas (SE) & Steam (Parsons) technology in managing the UK’s Power Generation fleet, supporting and advising our customers on their energy transition, as well as providing Generator technology for Rolls Royce for the new Dreadnought Submarine fleet, and manufacturing expertise in new technology fields an example being the collaboration with our partner Geo Pura producing off grid electricity from Green Hydrogen.How You’ll Make an ImpactYou will play a meaningful role in making our business future-ready by supporting our function in interpreting and reporting information to drive business performance, support strategic business decisions, and maintain control across a multitude of diverse operational areas. You will:
- Oversee the monthly close process in collaboration with the Operational Commercial management ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with relevant standards.
- Generate in-depth monthly analysis of actual performance, providing variance analysis and insights to better anticipate and facilitate decision-making.
- Partner with key stakeholders (Project Management, Operations, Sales & Tendering) to ensure a complete picture of the business is understood for forecasting and reporting purposes, driving achievement of business targets.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and monthly/strategic forecasting.
- Support projects, cost-saving initiatives, and various ad hoc tasks as needed.
- Manage the Capital Expenditure in line with budget.
- Ensure that correct processes and procedures, strong controls, and good governance are in place.
- Bring to the business new IT solutions that drive better understanding of current performance and highlight future issues, get buy in from the management team and implement into the business.
What You Bring
- Professional Full or Part Qualification (e.g., ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
- Proficiency in planning systems and Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, understanding of complex issues, the ability to quickly absorb information, and excellence in conceptual and creative problem-solving.
- A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Enjoy working independently, safely, and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change.
- Energised by collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely express complex situations to peers and senior management through writing, speaking, and presentations.
- Logical thinking, willingness to self-learn and research, and a creative approach to problem-solving.
