We are offering an exciting opportunity within Imaging at UHCW for the role of Operational & Performance Manager. This position is crucial for delivering key performance targets, monitoring demand and activity, and capacity planning. You will support the Head of Operations – Imaging and the senior management team in providing a high-quality, patient-centred care service within the available resources.As the Operational & Performance Manager, you will develop and maintain performance monitoring systems and manage the Radiology Information System. You will oversee the central admin team, ensuring budget control and appraisals, and implement a performance monitoring framework to track progress and meet KPIs. Additionally, you will support clinical service development and Business Continuity Plans, provide capacity and demand analysis for activity planning, and monitor specialty activity/recovery plans to meet performance targets. Collaboration with the senior management team and other key stakeholders (internally and externally) to achieve KPIs, project managing specific initiatives, and leading patient care development are also key aspects of this role.Please be advised there is a proposed interview date of 16th April 2025.Main duties of the jobManaging the central admin team involves ensuring efficient budget control, conducting regular appraisals, and maintaining an optimal skill mix to ensure organisational efficiency and clinical excellence. You will oversee day-to-day operations, provide guidance and support, manage workloads, set performance targets, and ensure the team meets its objectives. You will also be involved in recruitment, training, and development of team members to enhance their skills and performance. Effective communication and collaboration with other departments will be essential.The ideal candidate will have proven experience in performance management and analysis within a healthcare setting, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in technologies such as Excel (VBA), SQL, SSIS, Power BI, and Power Query is essential. - To develop and maintain imaging performance monitoring systems to ensure the standardisation of service delivery across the department; delivery plans and local commissioning requirements.
- Responsible for the Radiology Information System including data quality and active monitoring reports and production of reports for the department.
- Manage the central admin within the department, including budgetary control, appraisals; establishment overview and skill mix to ensure organisational efficiency and clinical excellence.
- To develop, implement and maintain a performance monitoring framework which clearly identifies progress against Imaging Business Planning objectives and targets, which highlight exceptions in key performance areas setting out agreed risk action plans (Preparation Speciality Performance Review)
- Responsible for service planning, ensuring the department is developed through the Specialities and is actively monitored through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Support the development of clinical services through identifying opportunities for improvement and project managing the implementation of appropriate developments/changes.
- Assist with Business Continuity Plans.
- Responsible for timely provision of capacity and demand analysis to the Head of Operations Imaging and senior management team to support the development of agreed activity plans within relevant timescales across all modalities.
- Monitor the achievement of specialty activity/recovery plans within the department to ensure both local and national performance targets are met.
- Work in collaboration with the senior management team in the delivery of waiting time targets and other KPIs through analysis of capacity and demand, forecasting and producing appropriate action plans.
- Take a lead role in developing timely and effective information for the department regarding specialty performance through liaison with the Performance and Informatics Department.
- Work to develop, maintain and improve systems across the department to achieve key targets and maximise utilisation of resources and income.
- Act as a source of advice for clarification and interpretation of performance information, data definitions and data quality issues to the management team.
- Support the senior management team to consistently deliver key targets through identifying training needs, producing and delivering training resources and acting as a source of expertise.
