UNV is revising its occupation classification system, known as the “areas of expertise” and related taxonomies. The revised areas of expertise classification will enhance UNV’s ability to match volunteer talents with partner requirements, as well as UNV’s ability to report on available talents and roles and tasks performed by volunteers.
For this project, UNV seeks a consultant who can:
- Review the current and previous occupational classifications (areas of expertise), online volunteering task classification, volunteer assignment titles, and related classifications of UN partners
- Consider international standards such as ISCO 08 and others
- Analyse the free-text assignment titles of UN Volunteers and online volunteers serving since 2023
- Propose a revised occupational classification taxonomy and related online volunteering tasks taxonomy
- Propose a mapping between the old and new taxonomies to facilitate implementation
- Prepare a naming convention or other solution for UNV assignment titles with a view to facilitating the reporting on the roles performed by UN Volunteers
The consultancy is expected to take 30 working days and can be spread out over several months. The starting date is flexible.
