Follow @abbvie on , , , and .Job DescriptionWe have an opportunity for an NPI Process Engineer (biologics) to join our Technical Operations team in Ballytivnan, Sligo.Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carry out technical assessment for evaluation of processes
  • Investigate, report and troubleshoot findings on both quality and EHS related issues observed during manufacturing or during batch record review
  • Develop, implement and monitor robust preventive measures for processing issues
  • Proactively monitor, identify, develop and implement improvements in processes and equipment
  • Communicate on a regular basis to the plant personnel on process updates
  • Perform all aspects of Product Engineering through the NPI and engineering change process
  • Deliver robust designs and processes to Manufacturing, with a full understanding of product performance, material implications, project costs and design for manufacture
  • Support the commercial demands of the business and in some instances take the lead with customer communication
  • Appropriate deployment of NPI processes, meeting all design milestone objectives and meet deadlines, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders
  • Performing gap analysis, facility fit studies, process safety and risk analysis for NPI.
  • Preparation and updating of specifications related to NPI materials and consumables.
  • Lead and / or assist risk assessments (e.g., pFMEA, EHS).
  • Development of NPI related documents e.g., Transfer Plans/Protocols/Procedures/Manufacturing Batch Records.
  • Working closely with global science and quality teams, on the process development of suitable future products for AbbVie.
  • Assist and /or lead product and process related investigation and change plans.
  • Support, supervise, and training operations personnel for NPI processes

Qualifications

  • Third level degree in a relevant engineering, science, or technology discipline.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical process engineering, with relevant experience of batch processing, technical transfers, scale up in a cGMP pharmaceutical or Biopharma.
  • New product introductions to Biologic facilities experience.
