NonStop Systems Engineer

Essential Responsibilities:

• Systems implementation:

• Project planning, implementation and documentation

• Lead Guardian OS , Network, and other major software release planning and implementation

• Configuring, planning and managing implementation of system hardware upgrades

• Functions as the technical lead on larger projects.

• Systems maintenance:

• Implementing and maintaining procedures to collect performance metrics and produce system performance and capacity reports

• Performs analyses (e.g., performs technical research in order to assess system performance and capacity)

• Manage and maintain 24×7 uptime on the NonStop systems including client related connectivity, application and platform issues

• System architecture:

• Research products, solutions, technologies, and apply results to create presentations/documentation

• Establish and implement auditing standards and present evidence to the auditors (internal and external) for PCI, FFIEC, and SOC assessments

• Applies technical expertise to support the deployment of technology architecture

• Identifying system performance bottlenecks and recommending performance improvement solutions

• Systems Security:

• Perform Tier 3 Security functions such as build and support Nonstop security infrastructure

• Provide troubleshooting support to level 1 & level 2 support groups

• Referent platform SME

• Provide mentoring and training to team

• Expert Knowledge of Guardian OS, NonStop SQL and NonStop hardware platforms

• Reviews, for accuracy, the technical content of proposals. This requires the incumbent to have a full, working knowledge of services/products/technology solutions

• Basic Qualifications:

• 4 year degree in relevant field or 5+ years of related technical experience

• 5 to 10 years of experience on HP NonStop systems

• Strong understanding and operational experience in a large scale enterprise level environment

• Background in the following:

• Guardian (OS) and Safeguard (Security)

• NonStop SQL

• OSS

• NS SQL MX/MP

• NS8X technology (X-Series)

• XP8 Storage

• EMC Data Domain

• Security: Comforte, GreenHouse, XYPRO security suites.

• Replication: Gravic Shadowbase, Goldengate, DRnet.

• Tools: MQ, Control-M, IR – Prognosis, NCI – Control & Compare

• Demonstrated subject matter expertise relating to:

• NonStop system software

• Security engineering

• Networking and data communications

• System design and architecture

• Performance management
