The Global Platform network is a vibrant and global network of youth-led spaces facilitating for radical embodiment and youth-led change. The GPs are instrumental in ActionAid’s vision to capacitate young people and there are now more than 70 locally rooted GPs across 30 countries. The AADK lead Global Platform secretariat supports the Global Platform network and facilitates for the concept to be practiced based on a shared approach to youth engagement.

The project runs in continuation and will be an extension of an already existing project between AADK, CENN and GrlzWave called “Seeds of Change” in Georgia on green and feminist youth participation in elections. Halfway through, it has resulted in a joint campaign framework, social media campaigns, training of staff in organising for change and youth exchanges. The new project will continue to build thriving GP’s/youth hubs and expand the collaboration to Armenia and Moldova – and beyond, based on the below overall desired outcomes.

1. Enhanced Civil Society Capacity of partner organizations to support inclusive and diverse youth engagement and volunteering for a more vibrant civil society.

2. Youth Empowerment and Networking for increased involvement of young people in regional and international networks, leading to enhanced capacity and confidence in organizing for change on local and global issues.

3. Youth Engagement and Cross-Border Collaboration for collective engagement in democracy in project countries, supported by peers from around the world.

In addition to the above outcomes, young people in Denmark, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Italy and more countries globally will have increased knowledge of – and collaborations with – youth in the region through AADK’s Global Platforms network as the projects include cooperation around the implementation of Global Platforms (www.globalplatforms.org), that will be an integrated part of the projects and will link the region into the Global Platform Network.
