Job Title: Met Police Driving Academy – Logistics / Admin SupportSalary: The starting salary is £37,289, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.The salary is broken down as £34,448 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £36,864. Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.Location: HendonThe MPS Driving Academy is responsible for delivering all driver/rider training. We have two main training sites – Newton House (Hendon) and Marlowe House (Sidcup).The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday 0800-1600 hours and will be based at Hendon mainly but may be required to work at Marlowe House occasionally. There is also an opportunity to agile / remotely work 2-3 days per week.Key responsibilities:

  • Management and strategic oversight of the Driving Academy Duties. This will include course allocations, plotting and scheduling and ensuring Duties aligned accordingly.
  • Overview of Driving Academy LMS. Ensuring LMS accuracy around Course allocations, forecasting, plotting and resulting.
  • To be able to provide LMS data analysis and course analysis with the ability to break down and provide statistics required for summary and performance reports
  • Assist with College of Policing Licencing legislation requirements supporting the Driving Academy Licencing Team.
  • Assist with External Course allocations, funding arrangements, plotting, logistics and overview to enable data analysis and findings for report completion.
  • To work closely with the Gateway Team and oversee and collate course business cases submitted and provide resolution where able to do so and appropriate.
  • To oversee and manage Driving Academy bookings with external training venue providers ensuring booking calendars updated and accurate and that purchase orders have been created, submitted and paid in a timely manner.

  • Must be willing to learn the MPS course management system, namely LMS
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills – the role holder will be communicating, meeting and liaising with senior officers and external partners / agencies.
  • Good IT skills and willingness to learn MPS computer and software systems
  • Ability to produce performance statistics and comprehensive reports in a variety of formats.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience in an administration based role
  • Previous experience in a Duties / Logistics background
