Are you passionate about promoting positive mental well-being and making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people? Direct Medics are working in partnership with NHS Cheshire Wirral Trust to recruit a Children and Young People Mental Health Practitioner, to play a vital role in supporting the mental health of the next generation.Based in Chester, full time, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.As a key member of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS), you will:
- Promote positive mental well-being and mental health for children and young people.
- Assess, deliver, and evaluate the mental health needs of children and young people accepted into the service.
- Provide specialist mental health assessments for young people with complex needs, including those admitted to paediatric wards following self-injury.
- Collaborate with children, parents, carers, and team members to create tailored treatment plans, incorporating a range of therapeutic approaches.
- Contribute to preventative service delivery by offering consultations, expert advice to professionals, and participating in training programmes.
- Work both autonomously and as part of the multi-disciplinary team, making decisions about accepting, prioritising, and assessing referrals to the service.
- Support the development of the CYPMHS team to meet its growing service needs.
RequirementsWe seek a dedicated mental health professional with:
- Core professional qualification in Social Work, Nursing, or Allied Health Profession.
- Professional registration with a recognised national body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England).
- Post-qualification continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to the core profession.
- Demonstrable knowledge of specialist therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, Family Therapy)
- Significant post-qualification experience in CYPMHS or a related child mental health field.
