Job description

Nursing Direct is seeking compassionate and experienced Mental Health Nurses to support children and young people across the West Sussex area with a variety of mental health and complex behavioural needs.We are committed to building a skilled team capable of delivering exceptional care for children with mental health challenges, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), learning disabilities, and/or challenging behaviours. Care is provided either in the individual’s home or in placement settings, tailored to their specific requirements.The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Registered Nurse qualification with a focus on mental health (valid NMC PIN required).
  • Proven experience in managing mental health conditions and challenging behaviours – essential.
  • PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) training – required.
  • Training or experience in medication administration – preferred.
  • Expertise in supporting individuals with ASD and learning disabilities – preferred.
  • Familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks – preferred.
  • Competence in promoting positive routines and providing holistic mental health support.
