Responsibilities– Collaborate with the team to deliver multiple projects, fostering a “one team” culture.
– Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards on-site.
– Promote a positive safety culture within the team.
– Coordinate and cooperate closely with clients, designers, subcontractors, resident engineers, main contractors, and regulatory bodies as needed.
– Facilitate the role of PSDP for active projects and represent the company as PSCS, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and current on-site.
– Conduct regular Health and Safety inspections and assist clients with audits.
– Oversee testing and quality procedures, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), pipe pressure testing, hydrostatic tank testing, and commissioning.
– Implement best practices in programme management, such as Lean Construction and Last Planner.
– Develop and manage the contract programme with input from all disciplines, tracking and adjusting it throughout the project lifecycle.
– Mitigate programme risks by adapting construction methods, design changes, or task scheduling.
– Lead the Project Delivery team, delegating tasks and providing support, training, and mentorship to Project and Graduate Engineers.
– Manage suppliers and subcontractor packages to ensure adherence to programme deliverables.
– Oversee cash flow and ensure timely submission of interim payment applications.
– Explore value engineering opportunities with clients as they arise.
– Anticipate risks and manage opportunities proactively.
– Prepare monthly reports on each project’s commercial activities, detailing income, costs, work in progress, and accruals.
– Offer guidance and oversight on tendering opportunities as needed.
– Ensure a positive experience for clients and their representatives by promoting collaboration.
– Act as the single point of contact for clients, instilling confidence in the project’s delivery.
– Address any customer complaints promptly and gather feedback to enhance satisfaction.
– Continuously seek to improve project delivery processes by providing lessons learned and innovative solutions.
– Stay updated on the latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).
– Contribute to business functions to implement efficiencies and improvements.
– Perform additional duties as required.Requirements– At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the water and wastewater sector.
– In-depth knowledge of the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013; certification in Managing Safely for Construction Managers is preferred.
– Proficient in the design, construction, commissioning, and process proving of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (MEICA) systems.
– Capable of serving as Glanua’s representative, effectively communicating with customers on program, budget, health and safety, environmental, and quality matters.
– Hold a Level 8 Honours Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
– Preferably a Chartered Engineer and an active member of the Institute of Engineers Ireland (IEI).
– Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary construction teams in high-pressure project delivery environments.
– Skilled in engaging with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors for financial negotiations and final account agreements.
– Proficient in programme management software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6, with the ability to create and update baseline programmes.
– Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to challenges during project delivery.
– Excellent proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
– Strong communication skills and a high level of motivation.
– Full, clean driving license.
– Safe Pass trained.
