Medical Science Liaison – Antibiotics – GERMANYPosition overview:We are seeking a proactive and well-organized Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our Medical Affairs department, acting as a vital link between healthcare professionals and the company. The MSL combines a high level of scientific knowledge with excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage and build relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders (KOLs). This role involves providing scientific discussions on topics related to microbiology and infectious diseases, aiding physicians in making informed diagnostic and treatment decisions, and improving clinical practice and patient care.Key responsibilities:Scientific Expertise and Communication:
- Maintain a high level of scientific knowledge in microbiology and infectious diseases by staying updated on newly published data.
- Communicate scientific data effectively, providing medical information to healthcare professionals and responding to complex medical queries.
- Support internal teams, including Medical Affairs, Marketing, Field Force, and Key Account Management by sharing scientific insights, providing scientific training and participating in joined field activities.
- Develop a deep understanding of our product, its clinical environment, and the patient pathways within hospitals.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain networks with healthcare professionals and KOLs within the assigned territory.
- Conduct hospital visits to engage in scientific discussions and provide clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare professionals.
- Organize and participate in advisory boards, representing the company at congresses, symposia, and other scientific meetings.
- Identify and train potential speakers on new data to effectively disseminate information.
- Support national/local activities in other therapeutic areas associated with Eumedica portfolio (pain management, psychiatry, …).
Internal Collaboration and Reporting:
- Document and report activities to the Medical Affairs department, providing insights into the medical community and guidance on training and promotional material content.
- Detect signals from external experts, translating these into opportunities or threats for the company.
- Offer feedback on clinical practice trends and identify gaps in our therapeutic areas.
Research and Clinical Support:
- Monitor and support ongoing investigator-driven studies.
You report directly to the Medical Affairs Manager, based in Belgium, Manage.Your profile:
- MD, PharmD or PhD in life-sciences with a proven experience in antimicrobial chemotherapy
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar MSL position
- Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, with advanced presentation abilities
- Proven ability to develop and foster credible peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and decision makers
- Ability to synthesize scientific information and communicate it effectively to HCPs
- Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Self-motivated and flexible, capable of working independently within the assigned responsibilities
- Entrepreneurial mind-set and approach – high sense of curiosity
- Willingness to travel (field-based position)
- Apart from German, fluency in English or French is essential
- Proficiency with IT tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
