The Center for STEM+eXcellence at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Media Manager. The anticipated start date is February 3, 2025.Morehead State University is located in Morehead, KY, a designated Kentucky Trail Town, nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest, in close proximity to Cave Run Lake. The Media Manager is the interface to all public media and the media liaison and formal spokesperson for the Center. The Media Manager must communicate effectively and articulate the vision and activities of the Center. The Media Manager represents the Center and the University as the public face. The Media Manager communicates details of the Center’s STEM+X opportunities and programs to the public, Center staff, educators, students, parents, stakeholders, and others daily through media outlets. The Media Manager is the Center’s liaison to MSU’s Office of Communication and Marketing. The Media Manager makes decisions related to and leads the development of digital media content and publication, including video and printed media for advertising, recruiting, and reporting purposes. The Media Manager leads the content development and publication of the Center’s newsletter, social media program, video and digital print products, and other media related to the Center and its STEM+X programs. Writing is required. The Media Manager is expected to possess superb project management and organizational skills. The Media Manager is expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This job requires traveling to locations of Center activities and STEM+X programs.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in communications, media, graphic arts, or a related field and 5 years of work experience as a media creator or similar job; or associate’s degree with 7 years of work experience as a media creator or similar job; or High School diploma with 10 years of work experience as a media creator or similar job. Experience developing broadcast, print, or social media content. Experience communicating with the public.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience writing in STEM areas; experience communicating STEM content with children, parents, educators, and the public; videography skills, graphic design skills; experience preparing reports; natural leader who displays strong decision-making skills and attention to detail; experience at targeted communications across various media platforms; possess superb project management and organizational skills; understanding of social media best practices; ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills, and ability to meet deadlines.SPONSORSHIP: This position is not budgeted for Visa Sponsorship.
