ReFOCUS Media Labs is dedicated to empowering refugees through media and arts education. We operate media labs that provide creative, educational, and expressive outlets for refugees and underserved communities. Our mission is to equip individuals with the skills and tools they need to tell their stories, advocate for their rights, and develop professionally.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and organized Media Lab-Lesvos Coordinator to manage and coordinate activities at our Media Lab on Lesvos. The coordinator will work closely with the refugee community, schedule creative and educational activities, manage the Media Lab space, and collaborate with local partners. This role requires someone with experience in project coordination, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing refugees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and oversee outreach efforts to the refugee community on Lesvos, ensuring broad participation in Media Lab activities.
  • Schedule and manage workshops, classes, and other activities at the Media Lab.
  • Collaborate with local partners and organizations to foster partnerships and coordinate joint activities.
  • Maintain and manage the Media Lab space, ensuring it remains a welcoming and productive environment for all participants.
  • Act as a liaison between the Media Lab team and the wider ReFOCUS organization.
  • Assist in reporting, evaluation, and documentation of Media Lab activities.

Requirements:

  • Some experience in project coordination or similar roles.
  • Communicative English language skills (both verbal and written).
  • Previous experience working on Lesvos or with refugee communities is highly desired.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and partners.
  • Individuals with a refugee background are strongly encouraged to apply.
