General Purpose of Job

The Broadcast Media Buyer is responsible for assisting with all aspects of broadcast media buying (audio and video) for assigned clients and media teams. The Broadcast Media Buyer assists with the negotiation, placement, management and reconciliation of broadcast media for assigned clients. The Broadcast Media Buyer works closely with the Sr. Broadcast Buyers and Broadcast Supervisor to ensure buy goals are met. The Broadcast Media Buyer must help support assigned client activations and contribute to team productivity. The Broadcast Media Buyer is also expected to provide support to integrated planning and activation teams when needed.

This position is remote with preference to Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Dallas areas.

Key Responsabilities

  • The Broadcast Media Buyer is responsible for helping support buying, negotiating and executing multiple schedules, budgets and deliverables

  • Collaborate with Sr. Media Buyers and integrated planners to aid the development of media plans for assigned clients

  • Support in the implementation of all client-approved plans (ongoing)

  • Foster and implement positive, collaborative, proactive communication with client services / account management / creative/ integrated planning and activation (via in-person, phone or email)

  • Maintain an understanding of clients’ brands/products/markets/and target audiences

  • Support best practices across the team and within the department; help identify areas for operational efficiencies and leverage Rise tools and technology for the benefit of our clients

  • Assist Sr. Buyer with accountability and ownership of client portfolio to ensure work is completed accurately and timely, leading and directing the work of other support staff, as appropriate

  • Meet tight deadlines within established budgets

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree (communications, marketing, or advertising) or equivalent

Experience: 3-5 years of media buying, background in audio (OTA) and video (linear and non-linear) planning, buying and execution desired

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal departments, external vendors, and all levels of the organization

  • Experience with MediaOcean/Spectra and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) as well as knowledge in research/data tools (SQAD, Kantar, Nielsen, comScore, PrimeLingo, etc.) desired
